MY ROLE
McBrides are a chartered accountants based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They’re lucky to have gone through huge growth over the last five years. They approached Studio44 commissioning a new website to help their business have a similar presence to their online competitors.
From my first meeting with the senior staff at McBrides, It quickly became apparent that they cared about their team, and that the people involved with the business were the ones responsible for their success. They also mentioned that by allocating every new business partner with an individual account manager, their customers felt they ran more like a small family owned business than a larger organisation, as they seemed so much more personal than some of their corporate giant competitors.

Luckily McBrides already had strong recognisable branding, so I used the ethos of people and the brand guidelines to sketch out an initial concept. This concept was a simple wireframe mocked in Balsamiq, but helped to indicate the sitemap intended.
I then took this to the team, and alongside the Creative Director, fine tuned the user journey that customers would take when visiting the site.
Key elements in the architecture included:
-Their Iconic office exterior set in the centre of the town
-Their professional, but friendly team members
-Their product and services offering
-Their up to date news, to help increase their SEO ranking and customer engagement
After we had run a card ranking excessive with the above, we were able to lock in our site architecture and start working on the visual design.
For the visual UI design, we had completed a similar site, within the same financial services space, to which McBrides loved the concepts. We tweaked some of these previous concepts into the website design in this case study.
I then worked with a developer to prepare the website assets and the correct micro-interactions.
